Tellytubbyland
Having driven along winding roads, through fields with twisted trees we came to Canberra – capital city of Australia. It’s a very well kept ‘town’ (you could hardly call it a city), it’s well-ordered, manicured and clean with fresh-air all around and it’s as if no-one who lives there has ever done any wrong, a utopia. Rush hour is hardly a rush. Every town we come to is spread out, and this was no different; we stayed on the Racecourse 10km from the centre, but it still took little over 10 mins to get in to the heart of it all.
In town, we were met by the wonderful lake and it’s tall jet squirting high into the air. This is the Captain Cook Memorial Jet and everything centres itself around this point, in fact Canberra is split in two by it.
